At the moment, I am turning to the laughter of friends and family. I love the energy of laughter.

what is a spiritual practice currently sustaining you?
Silence; I am enjoying just being. It is very difficult, and I learn a lot about who I think I am when I do nothing.
how would you describe the work you feel called to do in this world (even if it is not the work you get paid for)?
I feel called to create spaces where people have permission to reimagine. As an educator, I am called to help others encounter their own brilliance.
knowing that none of us “has it all together,” what is one question you are wrestling with, or bit of wisdom you are struggling to enflesh in your daily life?
“Is what I have to say really needed?” I feel like this question haunts me the most. In my mind, everyone has already thought of what I have to offer so what’s the point? I’ve been told it isn’t true, and I “know” it isn’t, but I still struggle with enfleshing it in my daily life.
who is one elder / ancestor / mentor whose guidance you draw from? what is one piece of wisdom they have offered?
I always say that my mom was my first theologian. She was the first one to spark curiosity in me. She always encouraged me to ask questions and seek until I found what I was looking for. I wouldn’t be here today without her wisdom.
what’s one oppressive untruth you are practicing unlearning / divesting from?
Imposter Syndrome. Anything that tricks you into thinking that your brilliance and light are a costume and someone will eventually “figure you out” is a tool of white supremacy. Who are you posing as, exactly?
