these days

These days, my prayers are mostly the slow asking of questions:
How do I channel this grief –
how do I let this grief channel me –
in a fruitful direction for ‘us?’
My daily living – with what is it aligned?
What shapes must ‘honest’ first take before hope becomes trustworthy?
What is possible, still? And now? And today?
What of the unshakeable determination of greed – the boundlessness of cruelty?
What of Love? (What of it?)
What shelter can I offer?
What of all the ancient trees, stillsharing with us their breath?
