In loving memory of Toni Morrison
Come, to this here place
Black flesh of all shapes, hues, and sizes
Come all into this beautiful space in the woods,
A Clearing that WE make together
And, though I’m looking for all Black flesh,
I have my heart set on Black queer flesh.
And here they come,
Haltingly at first
Timid at first
But still they come
And there is so much love here
And safety
And did I forget to mention love?
Love that you can’t get out there
Because ain’t no pride month without your beautiful face, spirit, and body.
Come here to this place so I can hear your name, speak your name, love your name
To this place.
Made beautiful
By You
Robert Monson
