I identify with the rain, today of all days.
The exhale that comes when rain washes away busy plans
The soft pitter patter reminds me of how I move throughout my home,
Softly. (Especially on the days where pain brings me to a slow crawl)
The nourishment reminds me of the ways people experience me.
The tenderness of my laugh nourishes a room.
The ways that people have to rush indoors to get out of the storm.
(I like being indoors)
And I identify with the rain most days, but most of all today,
Because as I hold my hand out, to touch the flowing stream,
I know that this storm will soon pass, and leave me and the world
Cleansed to start again. To be new again. To try again.
