And here I am again. In the in between place named shadow,
In the depths marked by something beyond light.
When I get here, people tell me that I should pray, believe, fast, try.
And the shadow becomes an oppressor that breaks the spirit, labeled negative, and beyond warmth
But, what if, in the places that are hard to observe and discern, the shadow became the portal
To salvation of a different kind
Love of a different kind
Beauty of a different kind.
Prayer
To and with You in dark places.
And so I pray that the shadow doesn’t overwhelm me today
Doesn’t harm me today
And
Loves me when all other lights go out.
