A Prayer for the Black and Disabled

Today we bring our Black bodies before You. Our beautiful, sacred, Black bodies.
Rich in melanin.
Rich in love.
In the fullness of our Blackness we come.

We bring our disabilities with us too. We bring the preciousness of our bodies as they are today.
We remember.
The pain. The impairments. The crushing anxiety that looms.
The legs that can be free and not free at times.
We bring these to You.
In a capitalistic world bent on commodifying bodies we come.
Pain isn’t our full story we know.

Spirit abide with us here.
Give us rest this world can’t match.
A space of solace, solitude, and yes refreshing.

Rest now, body.
Rest now, mind.
Spirit abide with us here.
