Liturgy that Matters – January 19, 2020 – Psalm 40:1-11

Themes: The psalmist bears witness to the days of their life heavy with fear, with despair, with waiting and waiting on God. They remind us of the times of life that feel void of hope. We get restless to make change at all costs. But waiting on God – they assure us – instead of trading in our integrity, our values, or our commitment to love, will be worth the wait. Even when it seems otherwise, God’s faithfulness will pull us through. In these days where we are encouraged to sell our soul left and right for false promises of security or success, this testimony reminds us to hang on – God’s faithfulness will not let us down.
