Liturgy that Matters – November 1, 2020 – Micah 3:5-12
Themes: The prophet has had some choice words for the elite in the community exploiting the labor and lives of others for profit. In this week’s text, he turns to address the prophets who support those in power, “leading the people astray.” We read this text through the lens of this pre-election day moment. What relationships need tending? Which ones are lifted up as virtuous while others are neglected? We also reflect on the reasons and ways we can slip into complicity with evil even when we think we are doing right by our neighbors.
