Liturgy that Matters – December 1, 2019 – Matthew 24:36-44
Themes: In this first week of Advent, we are invited to “be ready” for the fullness of God-with-us. We reflect on the temptation to simply keep “eating, drinking, and marrying” as those in Noah’s days did – even when violence and corruption filled the land. We are encouraged not to lose ourselves to fear nor numbness but to remain fully present to the work of God’s incarnating presence, even on the verge of periods of destruction. In this way, we will find refuge and life in situations of death.
