Liturgy that Matters – December 13, 2020 – John 1:6-8, 19-28
Themes: John the Baptist is a new man on the scene. Though he is capturing the attention of a wide variety of people, he is not out for attention or ego stroking. His mind and heart are captivated by the opening for liberation. Some will rightly question him – are you claiming to be the source of salvation? His answers invite us to consider to what and to whom we point attention, asking ourselves where we believe authority lives, and how we are called to “make way” for the incarnation that re-orders the power structures of the world.
