Liturgy that Matters – December 6, 2020 – Isaiah 40:1-11

Themes: What does it mean for God to call us home this Advent? Home to ourselves and to right-relationship with each other and the land. Like those who settled in Babylon, who found a way to survive in the midst of violent and destructive systems and forced exile, there comes a time when God asks and enables us to return to the places and ways God intended for us. To do so, however, requires a great deal. It is not easy thing to leave what has grown familiar. We explore the difficulties of this calling of return and all that enables us to meet the challenges.

This week’s Sermon Commentary is written by Nichola Torbett.
