Liturgy that Matters – February 23, 2020 – Exodus 24:12-18
On this Transfiguration Sunday, God’s glory settles on the mountain and Wisdom is handed down through a cloud. Nothing could be less rigid, less unchanging, less impermanent than a cloud. How does this challenge common practices around God’s teachings in the church today? What might this ask us to consider about our relationship to clouds and pollution today? Additionally, we linger in questions of our need for God’s guidance, even when fresh on the heels of deliverance, and the role of glory in drawing us, not away from, but towards the world’s trouble.
