Liturgy that Matters – February 9, 2020 – 1 Corinthians 2:1-12 (13-16)
Themes: The mystery of God’s wisdom – it remains beyond us in fullness, but we get glimpses and touches in community. The Kindom of God – the way of Christ that ushers in the new age – is foolishness to the powers of white supremacy, the ideas of patriarchy, the rules of capitalism, and the impulses of bigotry. Through the Spirit, we slowly perceive life, possibilities, and each other differently – through the knowledge of love’s depths. We trade in our loyalties to the old age and seek the wisdom that is made “secret and hidden” by the powers and rulers of the world’s order. By this wisdom, we become free from the tyrannies of evil and oppression to live into the mind of Christ.
