Liturgy that Matters – January 3, 2021 – Jeremiah 31:7-14

Themes: In this text, weeping and dancing come close together in the places where trauma and healing, pain and recovery, the messy and the in-process all collide. In these bodies, these lives, this flesh of ours and of all creations,’ Christ is revealed in the midst – not as a completion or as a perfection but with-us in whatever is. As we imagine pathways of healing and justice in community, this text also invites reflection on the cultural, theological, and systemic barriers and threats of ableism and the divine possibilities of practicing disability justice together.

This week’s sermon commentaries are written by Nichola Torbett.
