Liturgy that Matters – March 13, 2022 – Luke 13:31-35
Themes: Jesus is warned that Herod, an arbiter of imperial power, wishes to kill him. Rather than permanently retreat into self-protection, Jesus holds fast to his commitments to the people and all forces of life. This issue explores modern parallels that call us to trouble any simplistic and individualistic notions of safety and lures us toward lasting revolutionary commitments in community.
This week’s sermon commentaries are written by Casey Overton with liturgies by Rev. Molly Bolton.
