Themes: Even as Jesus speaks honestly about the struggles ahead for him and his disciples, suffering does not become the focus or the end-goal. Though many strands of modern Christianity have sunk deeply into ideas of redemptive suffering, this issue asks what gets lost when a Christian focus usurps the good things in the midst.
