Liturgy that Matters – October 24, 2021 – Job 42:1-6, 10-17
Themes: It’s the end of Job’s story and all is made well again. In fact, things are twice as good as they were before all the destruction he endured! Or so the story seeks to imply. While many might reject the theology behind such a claim, how does this idea still sneak up in our lives when it comes to encountering grief – ours or others? In this issue, questions of impulsive reactions when sitting with pain meet reflection on Job as a Wall Street executive and God as a cosmic gambler.
This week’s sermon commentaries are written by Min. Candace Simpson with liturgy by Rev. Molly Bolton.
