Liturgy that Matters – September 18, 2022 – Luke 16:1-13

Themes: In a capitalist system that depends on individuals aspiring upward, this parable turns things on their heads, showing the way of collective survival as one of aspiring downward. The way of solidarity and redistribution. Of resisting our own exploitation, the earth’s, or anyone’s – resisting histories and legacies of racism, colonization, and economic oppression. Of revealing the evil behind the everyday ordinary patterns of production and profit.

This week’s sermon commentaries are written by Nichola Torbett with liturgy by Rev. Molly Bolton.
